1. Controller and scope
Loonies is operated by An Artic, Danish company registration no. 37446459, which is the controller. This policy covers looniesapp.dk and the Loonies app on iPhone and Android.
Send privacy questions to info@looniesapp.dk.
2. Data we may process
Depending on how you use Loonies, we may process:
- name, email, login provider, account ID, language and beta/invitation status,
- the timestamp of 18+ and terms acceptance, but not date of birth or ID solely for beta age confirmation,
- profile image, profile text, interests and other profile fields,
- device position, online status, activities, visibility period and calculated distance,
- pings, companion requests, chats, images, Hangouts, group messages and meeting feedback,
- vouches: the sender’s first name, selected descriptions, optional free text, recipient and associated invitation,
- blocks, reports and information used to handle safety matters,
- push token, device and app version, IP/log data, error reports and usage measurements,
- support, feedback, screenshots and other attachments you choose to submit.
3. Purposes and legal bases
- Contract: create and run your account, show relevant people and activities, and provide pings, chat, Hangouts, notifications and support.
- Legitimate interests: prevent misuse, handle reports, protect users, measure a limited product experience and keep the beta stable and secure.
- Contract and legitimate interests: receive, display and manage vouches which a user has asked another person to provide. Free text must be factual and must not contain unnecessary private or sensitive information.
- Legal obligation: process information where applicable law requires it.
- Consent: optional marketing or other features where consent is the appropriate basis. Consent may be withdrawn.
4. Location and visibility
When you use location-based features, Loonies may process the device’s current position to calculate distance and find relevant people or places. Other users only see a rounded or categorised distance—not your address, precise GPS position or a map pin.
Your profile is visible only in the flows and periods you activate, subject to the access restrictions shown in the app. Disable location in your phone settings or go offline in the app to stop new location updates.
5. Recipients and providers
Relevant profile and communication information is shared with users participating in the same ping, chat or Hangout. Technical providers process information for database, files, login, distribution, notifications, email, hosting, analytics and error reporting.
The current overview is in “Providers and processors”. The Slack community is optional and separate from a Loonies account.
6. Transfers outside the EU/EEA
Some providers may process data outside the EU/EEA. Where this occurs, the transfer must use a valid mechanism, such as an EU adequacy decision or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses with relevant supplementary measures.
7. Retention
An active account and its content are retained while the account exists.
Support and product feedback is normally retained for no more than 12 months after closure. Safety reports may be kept for up to 24 months and technical security logs normally for no more than 90 days unless a specific incident or legal requirement needs longer retention.
These periods depend on the corresponding deletion processes being implemented and verified before launch.
A vouch and its association are generally kept while the recipient account exists, or until deletion or hiding following a valid request. Unused vouch links expire after the period shown when created and must then be deleted or anonymised under a documented routine.
8. Deletion and your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, or object to processing. Consent may be withdrawn without affecting processing that was already lawful.
Use the “Delete account” page or write from your registered email to info@looniesapp.dk. You may complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency at datatilsynet.dk.
9. Security and changes
We use access controls, provider security functions and limited internal access. No solution is risk-free, and we continuously assess appropriate technical and organisational measures.
We update this policy when the service or processing changes. Material changes are communicated on the website or in the app and may require fresh acceptance.
10. Information provided by other people
Another person may provide a vouch about you after your invitation. At collection, Loonies must display the controller, purpose and a link to this policy. You may request access, hide the vouch, request correction where relevant or object by emailing info@looniesapp.dk.
The public web form for vouches is temporarily disabled while access controls, transparency and deletion routines are fully verified.
